Two dry cargo ships will be built in Turkmenistan with the assistance of a South Korean company

The construction of two dry-cargo carriers by the specialists of "Shipbuilding and Shiprepair Plant "Balkan" OJSC and South Korean company Koryo Shipbuilding Industry Technology Co. is planned for July this year. This is reported by the Internet publication "Türkmenistan habarlar portaly".

Turkmen and Korean companies have signed a contract on joint design and construction of two dry cargo ships with a carrying capacity of 6,100 tons and have already started preparations for construction. More than 300 workers will be involved in the implementation of the project.

Korean shipbuilders held two-month specialized training courses on construction planning, introduction of technologies, development of ship parts, welding, electrical installation and quality control for their Turkmen colleagues.
