At a Cabinet meeting on Friday, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved the construction of a combined combined combined cycle power plant in the country's Balkan province. This was reported by the state news agency Turkmenistan Today.
This facility will be the second combined cycle gas turbine power plant in the country. The planned capacity of the power plant is 1,574 MW.
B. Annamammedov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers for Construction and Industry, made a proposal to build a power plant at the meeting.
The Deputy Prime Minister's report contained information on the increase in Turkmenistan's need for electricity, the growing demand for electricity in foreign markets and measures taken to create new energy capacities.
According to the report, the construction of a new power plant is envisaged by the Investment Program of the current year.
