A meeting on strengthening partnership between the countries-participants of the Treaty on a Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan on December 5, 2024. This is reported on the website of the country's foreign policy department.
The event held in Turkmenistan was dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the entry into force of the CA Treaty. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Central Asian region and Mongolia, heads of foreign diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan, representatives of foreign and Turkmen scientific circles, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for Central Asia, the Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, and experts from the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization.
The meeting addressed topical issues facing the States Parties to the Treaty on Nuclear Free Zones, in particular on improving interconnectivity between the zones and providing security assurances. The meeting resulted in the adoption of the Final Document.
