Turkmenistan has harvested a record potato crop

Farmers of Lebap province of Turkmenistan have significantly exceeded the planned plan for potato harvest. Farmers managed to harvest about 20 thousand tons of this crop from the area of 1400 hectares. This is reported by the Internet edition "Westiabad."

In the new season, agrarians plan to sow 900 hectares of land with potatoes. To ensure high yields, special attention is paid to the choice of land, application of organic and mineral fertilizers, selection of high-quality high-yielding seed material. According to the plans of farmers, 140 centners of autumn potatoes will be harvested per hectare of land.

Works on ground water retention for better rooting of potatoes were completed in velayat.
In Sayat, Danev and Khalacha districts of the province 250, 120 and 90 hectares of potatoes have already been planted, respectively.
