Mass harvesting of cotton started in Turkmenistan

On September 10, mass harvesting of cotton, which is traditionally called "white gold" in the country, started in all regions of Turkmenistan. Arzuw.news reports with reference to the publication Turkmenistan: Golden Age.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov gave his blessing for the start of the harvesting campaign at the Cabinet of Ministers meeting on September 5, wishing success to all cotton growers of the country.

The start of the seasonal work was given by the venerable elders with the words "Bisimilla!" in accordance with the good folk tradition, saying a prayer for the welfare of the country.

Agrarian reforms in the republic continue to develop under the leadership of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Head of State Serdar Berdimuhamedov. In November last year, the President signed a Resolution instructing the Ministry of Agriculture, the State Concern "Türkmenpagta" and the khakimliks of velayats to ensure cotton production in 2025.

Cotton growing remains a key sector of Turkmenistan's agro-industrial complex, contributing to import substitution and strengthening the country's export potential. Digital technologies are being actively introduced in the industry, and scientific breeding of new cotton varieties is underway.

Modern harvesters, trucks, tractors and trailers with the organization of round-the-clock technical service are used for harvesting works. The first caravans with the harvested crop have already arrived at the receiving points and cotton ginning enterprises decorated with State flags.

On behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, valuable gifts were presented to the best cotton growers. Exhibitions of agricultural machinery and concert programs were organized as part of the festivities.
