Turkmenistan's energy initiative adopted by UNGA

On December 19, during the 48th plenary meeting of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, Turkmenistan's initiative "The key role of reliable and stable energy connectivity in ensuring sustainable development" was unanimously adopted. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Thirty-eight UN member states participated in the development of the Energy Initiative. The Turkmenistan Initiative envisages international cooperation to ensure reliable and stable energy connectivity at the national, regional and global levels. The initiative contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals on the provision of affordable, reliable and modern energy sources.

Turkmenistan proposed to hold an expert meeting in 2024 to discuss energy supply to countries with insufficient domestic energy resources.
