A large jazz concert was held at the State Cultural Center in the capital of Turkmenistan on April 30. It was timed to the International Jazz Day and was an important event for fans of this interesting genre of music.
The musical extravaganza started with young performers from the "Mukam" band, who skillfully played well-known tunes by Turkmen and foreign composers.
The concert program harmoniously combined world jazz hits and traditional Turkmen tunes and melodies with a unique national flavor. Guests of the concert were able to enjoy both vocal and instrumental performances of the musicians.
The audience appreciated the brilliant numbers to the music of Bart Howard and Burt Kampfert, performed by conservatory student Dovran Shammayev and his mentor, Vladimir Mkrtumov.
