Businessmen from the United Arab Emirates started buying urea produced in Turkmenistan.
Urea produced by the State Concern "Türkmenhimiýa" and the open joint-stock company "Türkmensenagat eksport-import" has been regularly sold to buyers from the UAE during the last three weeks of trading on the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan (GTSBT).
According to the State Commodity Exchange, which is published weekly by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH), the UAE was the second country in terms of demand for Turkmen urea this year. In early 2020, businessmen from the United Kingdom also bought urea produced by the state concern Türkmenhimiýa through the GTSBT.
B-class urea produced by Garabogazkarbamid, Marykarbamid and Tejenkarbamid is traded on the Turkmen exchange. A ton of this product sells for $160-220 USD.
According to IndexMundi portal, citing the World Bank, the price of urea on the world market rose by about 8% in March this year and amounted to more than $230 per ton.
