National competitions in various sports are regularly organized for young athletes. The Olympic City in Ashgabat, where important international and national competitions are held, has been built and opened.

Within the framework of the "Program of the President of Turkmenistan on socio-economic development for 2019-2025", the country pays special attention to the development of amateur, professional sports and improvement of the relevant legislative framework.
