At the initiative of the British Embassy in Ashgabat a webinar on COVID-19 was held

As part of the UK government's global efforts to assist the authorities in effectively countering COVID-19, the British Embassy organized a webinar in Ashgabat on July 2.

Turkmen health workers and representatives of the relevant ministry have studied the experience of British scientists and health professionals from leading universities and public institutions: DHSC, Public Health England (PHE), John Innes Center, the Universities of Cambridge, Birmingham, Manchester, UCLH, RCPath.

Speakers noted the importance of preventive measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19: hand hygiene, the use of masks in closed public spaces, and other ways to reduce the risk of transmission. Speakers also spoke about the importance of providing COVID-19 tests to the public.

Scientific information about coronaviruses, the sources of infection, was also brought to the webinar's attention. British colleagues talked about the problems they had during the pandemic and also shared ways to diagnose COVID-19, in particular by PCR.

Turkmen medical specialists expressed their gratitude for the organization of the webinar, which, in their opinion, was very informative and useful. The parties agreed on the need to continue interaction between the countries on this topic, which is especially important during the COVID-19 pandemic.
