An online meeting was held between the Foreign Ministries of Turkmenistan and the Czech Republic. The inter-ministerial consultations were held at the level of deputy foreign ministers. The Turkmen side was represented by V. Khadzhiev, and the Czech side by M. Tlap.
At the beginning of the meeting, the participants warmly greeted each other. Then the need to intensify interstate relations in those sectors that are the subject of mutual interest was noted.
The diplomats discussed the current state of inter-parliamentary cooperation. In particular, it was mentioned that the Friendship Group with the Czech Republic was formed under the Turkmen Majlis. Participants of the online discussion noted that mutual visits and meetings will greatly help the development of cooperation. The parties agreed that they would contribute to all the above-mentioned areas if possible.
The features of the foreign policy activities of both states and inter-mission interaction are considered. Turkmenistan and the Czech Republic are committed to universal peace, stability and steady progress. Participants of the talks discussed aspects of partnership on the basis of the UN and the European Union, including support for peace initiatives of each other. They also noted the need to improve the contractual and legal framework for mutual cooperation.
The Czech diplomats praised Turkmenistan for its active role in solving a number of international and regional problems, including promotion of a peaceful solution in Afghanistan.
Participants of the inter-ministerial online consultation also discussed key issues of trade and economic and transport-transit orientation. The need to organize meetings in the online format between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Czech Republic was emphasized. They touched upon problems of restoring economic stability disrupted by the global pandemic. The diplomats also talked about further development of partnership relations with the WTO.
Cooperation in the cultural and humanitarian sphere was not ignored either.
