During his speech at the oil and gas investment forum President of Azerbaijani State Oil Company SOCAR Rovnag Abdullayev focused on new opportunities for partnership between the two countries in the energy sector. In particular, Abdullayev noted the Southern Gas Corridor (SAGC) that is fully ready for operation. The SOCAR president stressed that the international South Gas Corridor project open for potential gas exporters and importers is of great importance for ensuring European energy security and helps develop the Caspian region.
The head of the Azerbaijani state company reminded that Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan had signed Memorandum on the joint development of the Dostluk Caspian field. Azerbaijani colleagues are ready to share with representatives of Turkmenistan the opportunities provided by the pipeline infrastructure of the South Caucasus and the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline to supply Turkmen hydrocarbons to the world market. Given the strong growth of Turkmenistan's industrial complex, the potential for partnership and integration of industrial complexes of the two countries in the Caspian basin and at the global level is obvious.
