The wrestler was prepared for the competition by experienced coach Batyr Orazglydzhov. The Turkmen wrestler won gold in the weight category up to 79 kg. In the quarterfinals, the representative of Turkmenistan defeated athletes from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Iran. There were 10 athletes competing for medals in weight category Begenjov.
Earlier, the young wrestler from Turkmenistan became the bronze medalist of the Asian U-23 Championship, in 2022 became the winner of the Asian Cadet Championship in the weight category up to 65 kg, and in 2023 - the bronze medalist in the weight category up to 71 kg.
