Turkmen swimmers Musa Zhalaev, a student of Y. Kakaev MUNiG, and Ainura Primova, a graduate of secondary school No. 68 in Ashgabat, made their debut at the Olympic Games in Paris. This is reported by the Internet edition "Turkmenistan: The Golden Age."
Medals were awarded in the men's 100-meter crawl and women's backstroke. Musa Jalaev showed the fourth result in the third qualifying heat, finishing with a time of 52.29 seconds. At the end of all ten heats, the Turkmen athlete took 61st place. Ainura finished third in the first qualification swim with a time of 1 minute 10.17 seconds. According to the results of all swims Primova took 35th place.
To reach the semifinals, the athletes had to be among the top 16. Turkmen swimmers finished their performance at the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games in France.
