On November 6, within the framework of the 7th session of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish Commission on Economic Cooperation, a wide range of issues on expanding bilateral cooperation between the countries in the energy sector were considered. This is reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
In particular, the sides discussed the possibility of sending Turkmen natural gas to Turkey. In this regard, the importance of the project on sending natural gas to the Republic of Turkey via Iran was emphasized. It was noted that Turkmenistan's rich natural resources offer great prospects for cooperation in this direction. In this regard, reference was made to the Galkynysh field, which is an integral part of the country's gas resources.
During the talks, the prospect of the project on gas exports to Turkey was noted, and the parties reached an agreement to start negotiations at the level of heads of relevant agencies and companies.
