The Salam Khan Presidential Residence in Kabul, Afghanistan, was the site of a signing ceremony for landmark agreements aimed at bringing Turkmen-Afghan infrastructure projects to life: TAPI, TAP, railways. The ceremony was attended by the President of Afghanistan, members of the Cabinet, the ministerial and departmental leadership of the two countries, and representatives of companies.
The ceremony was opened by Acting Chairman of the Central Bank of Afghanistan Ajmal Ahmadi. Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan and Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov conveyed greetings on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan and noted the importance of signing relevant agreements aimed at the practical implementation of projects of global significance. The Afghan president thanked Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov for his commitment to the friendship of the two nations and the development of large-scale energy projects and transport corridors that promote economic integration in the region.
Authorized Turkmen and Afghan delegates signed treaties regulating the development of the Afghan gas market, partnership in the field of information and communication.
