Turkmenistan to propose introduction of Turkic Languages Day at UNGA

Turkmenistan will propose to establish a "World Day of Turkic Languages" during the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly. This is reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

Priority positions of Turkmenistan, developed for the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, which will begin on September 12 this year in New York, include a proposal to hold an International Week of Turkic Languages in 2024 jointly with UNESCO and TURKSOY.

In addition, the document proposes to consider the possibility of adopting a resolution by the UN General Assembly to establish a "World Day of Turkic Languages".
The initiatives developed by Turkmenistan are aimed at promoting intercultural dialogue and supporting multilingualism in international relations.
