Turkmenistan takes part in the Bonn Forum on Climate Change

Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan N. Djumashov headed the national delegation taking part in the Bonn Climate Change Conference, which started on June 3. This is reported on the website of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

The forum is attended by the staff of the relevant ministries of the states that have joined the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, as well as specialists from international organizations and representatives of the scientific community.

The forum participants discussed topics related to preparations for the upcoming UNFCCC-2024 conference to be held in Baku this fall. The Turkmen side voiced a proposal to establish a Regional Climate Technology Center under the auspices of the UN in Ashgabat.

On the margins of the conference, the Turkmen delegation held a number of bilateral meetings, including with the Deputy Minister of Ecology of Uzbekistan, a representative of the Green Climate Fund and others. The Forum in Bonn will last until June 13, 2024.
