Turkmenistan joined the Olympic Council of Asia

Ata Akmammedov, who has been the Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan since 2021, has become a member of the Coordination Committee of the Olympic Council of Asia for the Asian Youth Games-2025. This is reported by the online publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

In addition to the representative of Turkmenistan, the OCA Coordination Committee included representatives of the NOCs of Nepal, Tajikistan, Bangladesh, UAE, Pakistan, as well as the OCA Vice-President. The Asian Youth Games are the second largest multi-sport games after the Asian Games and are held every four years under the administration of the Olympic Council of Asia.

The Asian Youth Games were first held in 2009, followed by the competition in 2013. In 2017 and 2021, the Games were canceled for various reasons. Now the young athletes of Asia will take part in the competition in 2025 in Uzbekistan.
