Ailara Kakabayeva, a 12-year-old tennis player, pupil of the Atamurat Niyazov School for Gifted Children, won a gold medal in a pair with Kazakhstan's Polina Sushkova at the Doha junior tennis tournament for under-14-year-olds. This is reported by the online edition of "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
In the semifinals, the Kakabaeva-Sushkova pair defeated a pair from Kazakhstan and Canada, and in the finals - a pair of athletes from India and Qatar. The gold medalist of the tournament trains at Sports School No. 10 of the Ashgabat Main Department of Physical Culture and Sports under the guidance of honored coach of Turkmenistan Jenneta Khallyyeva.
It is noted that Ailara has a great chance to become a medalist in the second Asian junior tennis tournament among juniors under 14 years old in singles. Kakabayeva has already won two victories over athletes from the Philippines and Qatar, in the semifinals she will fight with a tennis player from Uzbekistan.
