Turkmen schoolchildren Gulendam Rakhimova, Myahridjemal Begjanova and Tumar Ashirova won prizes in the essay contest "Thinker and poet Makhtumkuli Fraghi" among schoolchildren from TURKSOY member countries. This is reported by the Internet edition "CentralAsia.news".
The contestants' works were devoted to the importance of preserving and popularizing the creative heritage of Turkmen poet Makhtumkuli Fraghi. The essay contest was timed to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Makhtumkuli.
In connection with the remarkable event, TURKSOY assisted in the translation and printing of Makhtumkuli's poems in Turkish, Azerbaijani, Kazakh and Tatar.
The awarding of the laureates of the contest will take place within the framework of the ceremony of the end of the Year "Anau - the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World" at the end of October this year.
