Sambo wrestlers from Turkmenistan won 26 medals of different values at the Asian and Oceania Championship held in Astana. This was reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
The competitions were held in several categories. More than 600 athletes from 30 countries competed for medals in sport sambo among boys, juniors and adults, in combat sambo among juniors, juniors, men and women.
For the first time, blind and visually impaired athletes took part in the championship. In addition to the medals of the championship, there were also tickets to the World Martial Arts Games in Riyadh.
Turkmen athletes won 3 gold, 7 silver and 16 bronze medals in different categories. This year, Turkmen sambo wrestlers improved their result compared to last year, when 22 medals were won in the championship in Libya.
