Turkmen athletes won 25 medals at the championship in Delhi

The Asian Youth and Junior Championships are being held in Delhi, India, where Turkmen weightlifters won 25 medals of different values. This is reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

A total of 260 athletes from 21 countries are taking part in the championship. Turkmenistan is represented by 11 weightlifters, 7 of whom won 10 gold, 9 silver and 6 bronze medals.

A. Rustamova, an 11th grade student of Ashgabat's Olympus Sports School, won 6 gold medals in snatch, jerk and total of two-round competitions among girls and juniors.

Three gold medals were brought to the team of Turkmenistan by Sh. Matyakubov, a student of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports. Another gold medal winner was G. Toraev, a student of the same university.

The winners of silver and bronze medals were P. Bagtyyarov, G. Kakamyradova, R. Redzhepov, O. Amanova.
