President of Turkmenistan holds talks with the head of Tajikistan in Dushanbe

On October 9, 2025, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived on a working visit to Dushanbe to participate in the Central Asia-Russia Summit and the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State. During the visit, he had a bilateral meeting with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon. About it reports Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan. 

During the talks, the heads of state discussed further strengthening of traditionally friendly relations between the two countries. The President of Turkmenistan conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The similarity of the two countries' positions on key issues of world politics was noted. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed gratitude for Tajikistan's consistent support of Turkmenistan's policy of permanent neutrality and international initiatives.

The sides discussed the prospects of trade and economic cooperation, including the increase in mutual trade turnover and diversification of economic ties. Special attention was paid to the activities of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Tajik Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, the heads of state reaffirmed their commitment to further development of bilateral cooperation and strengthening of friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan.
