Representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan within the framework of the exchange visit under the UNODC and World Trade Organization programs on container traffic control arrived in Pakistan to exchange experience with colleagues from the Islamic Republic. This is reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
Turkmen customs officers visited the Pakistani port city of Karachi and learned about the work of the Port Control Unit, as well as visited the international container terminal "Qasim" to study the best practices of Pakistan in the organization of control processes of container transportations.
Karachi Port and Qasim International Container Terminal handle about 90% of the total cargo volume in foreign trade turnover.
During the visit of Turkmen customs specialists to Pakistan, consultations were also held with the Pakistani side to strengthen regional cooperation.
