The 20th Asian Karate Championship under the auspices of the World Karate Federation among adult athletes ended in Hangzhou, People's Republic of China, during which Turkmen karate player Davut Nazmyradov climbed to the third step of the podium. This is reported by the Internet edition "Turkmenistan: The Golden Age."
A total of 356 athletes from 30 countries took part in the tournament. Medals in kata, kumite, as well as tickets to the World Cup, which will be held in Pamplona, Spain, in November this year, were awarded. Turkmenistan was represented by six athletes, three judges, two coaches and the head of the delegation.
Davut Nazmyradov won a bronze medal in men's kumite in the 75 kg weight category.
On his way to a coveted medal at the prestigious tournament, Davut scored three victories - over athletes from Cambodia, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.
