China wins tender for development of the fourth stage of Galkynyş

The Chinese side has won the international tender for the development of the fourth stage of the largest gas field "Galkynyş". President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov informed Chinese President Xi Jinping about it during an official meeting in Beijing. The information is reported by Arzuw.news with reference to the publication Turkmenistan: Golden Age.

The Galkynyş field is one of the world's largest underground reservoirs of hydrocarbon resources with natural gas reserves estimated at 27.4 trillion cubic meters. Development of this strategically important facility has been underway since 2013.

The victory of the Chinese side in the tender strengthens China's position as a key foreign economic partner of Turkmenistan. The Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline demonstrates the effectiveness of bilateral cooperation, having been successfully operating for more than fifteen years.

The parties aim to intensify trade and investment ties, develop industrial cooperation and establish joint ventures. Turkmenistan and China continue to work on further intensification of cooperation in the gas sector, which opens up new prospects for strategic partnership between the two countries.
