The S. A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University is holding a contest of scientific papers on the theme "The Role of Youth in Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals". The event is timed to coincide with the World Environment Day. This is reported by the TurkmenPortal online publication.
The first round included 130 projects of representatives of foreign and Turkmen educational institutions. The participants included students from Russia, Central Asia, Korea, China and other countries. For 38 project works, the first stage ended with the final round. Among the selected promising works, 8 belonged to representatives of foreign countries, 30 - to students of Turkmen universities.
These works in practical application can serve the realization of the six directions of the SDGs, among which are the fight against hunger, clean water and sanitation, energy availability, adaptation to climate change, protection of the biosphere of the seas. It is noted that Turkmenistan was one of the first countries to commit to achieving all 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
