The National Music and Drama Theater named after Makhtumkuli in Ashgabat hosted the premiere of the play "The Pranks of Scapin" by Jean Baptiste Moliere. This is reported by the Internet publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

The action of the play takes place in 7th century Naples. The main character is a resourceful and agile servant named Skapen, played by Turkmen actor Yazgeldy Podzhykov.

Honored Art Worker of Turkmenistan Batyr Bekmuradov acted as the production designer. Batyr Klychdurdyev did the musical design, and Olga Vasilyeva staged the dances. The drama comedy was directed by Merdan Khandurdyev.

The general mood of the performance is set by rousing songs, Neapolitan and gypsy music, colorful outfits and dances that immerse the audience in the wonderful atmosphere of the holiday.
