The economy of Turkmenistan recorded an increase in the number of economic entities. The Turkmen State Statistics Committee notes that at the end of the first quarter of 2021, the increase was 44.3% compared to the same period of the previous year.
Most of the newly registered enterprises are concentrated in the agricultural sector. During the same time interval their number increased by 88%. The manufacturing industries also registered a good increase - over 53%.
At the same time there is a decrease in the number of state-owned business entities. But the number of private small businesses is growing.
The Turkmen State Statistics Committee states that in January-February 2021, the production of silk fabrics increased by 3.1%, glass fibers and plastics by 155%, mineral water and soft drinks by 20.5%, cereals by 85.1% compared to the same time period of the predecessor year. Production of whole-milk products increased by 11.2% and butter by 35%. 2.5% more was produced knitwear and clothing products. There was also an increase in other types of industrial products.
The inflow of funds to the State budget of Turkmenistan from the private sector has also increased. For January-February 2021 the growth was 36.2% compared to the same period last year.
