Yesterday a seminar organized by the Government and UNDP was held. The central topic of the meeting was the Constitution of Turkmenistan. The participants of the seminar were representatives of the official legislative, executive and judicial state authorities, public figures of several provinces and the capital of Turkmenistan.
The event is timed to coincide with the thirtieth anniversary of the country's membership in the UN and the same round date since the proclamation of the Constitution.
R. Nurmukhamedov, head of the UNDP Programme Department, spoke at the meeting. He noted that the Constitution of Turkmenistan fully complies with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Freedoms.
The purpose of the event was to discuss the mechanisms of state administration of the country, as a result of which the constitutional freedoms of citizens are protected. The subject of the dialogue was the role of public associations and current trends in education that promote respect for human rights.
