European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) intends to continue to assist entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan. Up to five new investment projects will be agreed before the end of this year. Anton Usov, a representative of the EBRD, told about it.
He stated that the bank intends to implement these projects even in spite of the unstable global economic situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
As Usov notes, since the beginning of this year, Turkmenistan and the EBRD have already Three investment projects have been approved, total cost which are equal to $1.3 million. The signatories from the Turkmen side were such companies as Datly Sherbet, Safa and Ak Hunji, among others.
All in all, for the entire period of its multi-year partnership with Turkmenistan, the EBRD has invested €272 million. for the implementation in the state of the order of 70 investment projects. Through these investments for more than 200 small and medium-sized companies counseling by competent specialists became available.
Usov also said that the EBRD will continue to support Turkmen entrepreneurs. In order to develop private entrepreneurship, the bank is ready to allocate funds to private companies, the sphere of activity of which is connected with Food industry, furniture production, hotel services, logistics, packaging, delivery of goods and other types of transport services. The EBRD's priorities also include support for Turkmenistan's private entrepreneurs in the financial and corporate sectors.
