More than 140 deals were registered at the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Turkmenistan (GTSBT) in February this year. Most of the deals - 63% - were made in the second half of the month.
The total value of currency trades in February amounted to more than 93.5 million US dollars. Transactions to the amount of 84 million 378 thousand manat were registered in national currency. Local entrepreneurs accounted for 74 million 429 thousand manats - for this amount they bought high density polyethylene production manufactured by the State Concern "Turkmengaz", cotton and carpets.
Entrepreneurs from Turkey, Afghanistan, United Arab Emirates, UK, Russia, China, Azerbaijan, Serbia, Estonia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and USA also took part in the trades. 70% transactions were recorded in U.S. dollars.
At the February auction of the STSBT, high density polyethylene of the Turkmenbashi oil refinery complex, technical sulfur of the State Concern "Turkmengaz" as well as furniture, colorless glass, tea drink with cassava root, a three-layer mask, cotton yarn, fabric and containers went under the hammer.
For the first time this year, live root tea and a three-layer mask were up for bid.
