The International Youth Forum of Peace and Trust was held in the capital of Turkmenistan

The International Youth Forum of Peace and Trust was held in the capital of Turkmenistan. It was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The forum had a hybrid format, with some participants attending in person and others online. The event was organized by the UN Resident Coordinator's Office in Turkmenistan and the Turkmen government. The forum was another step in the implementation of the United Nations General Assembly resolution calling 2021 the International Year of Peace and Confidence.

Delegates from the Mejlis, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Sports and Youth Policy, several universities, and public figures were invited to the Forum. The Forum also brought together delegates from UN agencies. Among them were the UN Population Fund, UNESCO, the UN Children's Fund, the Office of the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for Youth and others.

The event is unique in that it provides an opportunity to discuss ways to form mechanisms aimed at involving the younger generation in the development of interreligious and intercultural dialogues, as well as to share experiences that already exist in this area.

During the event, plans were also presented for involving young people in activities to strengthen world culture, not only at the country level, but also at the regional and global levels. The participants also learned about the implementation of the International Declaration and Programme of Action on World Culture. These documents were adopted by the UN General Assembly in September 1999.

The results of this Forum are expected to influence the activities of the UN ECOSOC Youth Forum. It is scheduled for April 2021. The event will be held in New York City (USA).

The results of the Forum were enshrined in the Joint Statement of the participants of the event.
