Delegates from seaports and relevant agencies of Turkmenistan and Iran held negotiations on the topic of transport cooperation in the Caspian Sea. The discussion of Turkmen-Iranian cooperation in the transport sector took place in the virtual mode.
Deputy Chairman of "Türkmendeňizderýaýollary" A.Durdiyev and General Director on Transit, Logistics and Agreements of the Iranian Port and Maritime Organization H.Sarayi considered the tasks of increasing the volume of cargo turnover on the Caspian Sea. The potential for strengthening transport and transit partnership between Turkmenbashi International Seaport of Turkmenistan and Iranian ports of Amirabad, Nowshahr and Enzeli was considered directly.
The negotiators noted the mutual readiness of the Turkmen and Iranian governments to develop the transport and transit vector.
Recall that Iran and the Russian Federation are currently in a test mode preparing a water container route, as part of the transport corridor "North - South", and reported the possibility of Turkmenistan joining this project.
