A special flight carrying another batch of vaccines against viral infections was sent to the Turkmen capital by the UNICEF Children's Fund. The medicines arriving in Ashgabat are intended for routine immunization of the country's citizens.
In this batch, vaccines against tuberculosis, whooping cough, poliomyelitis, rubella, and measles were given to Turkmen health workers. The country also received tuberculosis diagnostic systems.
Recall that UN units regularly send medical equipment and medicines to Turkmenistan to treat lung infections and viral diseases. In 2022, Turkmen hospitals and clinics received a shipment of dexamethasone, a modern drug for treating lung infections. The country also received more than 190,000 Covid-19 coronavirus rapid testing systems.
