Georgia is interested in purchasing natural gas from Turkmenistan

The General Director of the Oil and Gas Corporation of Georgia, George Chikovani, stated that his country is interested in buying Turkmen natural gas.

- Not only the European Union but also Georgia is interested in natural gas supplies from Turkmenistan. However, Turkmen natural gas must first be exported to the Azerbaijani market. This problem can be solved through international cooperation efforts. It is necessary to hold large-scale negotiations with the participation of the European Union, South Caucasus, Central Asia and industry representatives," Giorgi Chikovani said in his speech at the XXVII International Conference "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan - 2022", which started in Ashgabat today.

Noting that the situation on the world energy market remains difficult, Chikovani added that Turkmenistan has sufficient reserves to cover the demand for natural gas.
