The Turkmen Mufti's Office opened a special charity account at Turkmenistan Bank for donations for the construction of a mosque in the new capital of the Akhal velayat, Arkadag city. The announcement was published in today's edition of the newspaperTurkmenistan".
Charity accounts are opened in the national currency, U.S. dollars and euros.
Last June it became known about the construction of a mosque in the new administrative center of the Akhal province, where 5,500 people can pray simultaneously. It will be built by the economic society Altyn, a member of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.
The new administrative center of Ahal, where approximately 70 thousand people will live, is being built on an area of 950 hectares, 30 kilometers southwest of the Turkmen capital. The construction of the country's first $1.5 billion "smart city" was launched in April 2019.
