Turkmen archeologists have received an invitation from colleagues from the Russian Geographical Society to take part in a joint expedition near the Meana settlement in the foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains to study the remains of life and everyday life of ancient farmers. This is reported by the online edition of "SNG.today".
Meana village is located in the Akhal province near the Turkmen-Iranian border. The village is famous for the mausoleum of the medieval philosopher-mystic Abu Seyit Abul Khair, called Myane Baba in Turkmenistan.
The expedition will take place from September 1 to 30, 2024. The excavations will study the remains of culture and life of people who lived on the territory of the Kopetdag oasis. To participate in the archaeological expedition, it is necessary to leave an application on the website of the Russian Geographical Society until May 1, 2024.
