The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Turkmenistan has begun accepting documents for an international scholarship program announced by the Korean Ministry of Education.
Citizens of almost 150 countries, including Turkmenistan, who wish to study in the Master's and Doctoral programs can take part in the educational program.
The program covers your flight, tuition, stipends, and Korean language courses.
In recent years, more than 170 students from Turkmenistan have studied or are studying at Korean universities.
Moon Jepil, adviser to the Korean Embassy in Turkmenistan, told the Arzuw News news portal that Turkmen students are successfully studying at Korean universities. Jepil drew attention to the work to increase annual opportunities for Turkmenistanis wishing to study at Korean universities, and noted that the embassy is working closely with the Turkmen government in this direction.
There are 10 places in the program for Turkmenistanis wishing to continue their education after the bachelor's degree. Candidates applying for the first 6 places out of 10 can apply at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Ashgabat. The information booklet of the program informs that for the remaining 4 places it is necessary to apply directly to the universities.
The program offers spots both for applicants wishing to pursue higher education and for professional Korean language teachers. This opportunity is also available to Korean language teachers working in public educational institutions.
Acceptance of documents closes on March 16.
The scholarship program will admit 1,270 candidates to 67 universities in Korea.
