On February 19, Ashgabat's Yildiz Hotel hosted a briefing on the international program for international students funded by the Government of Japan. As part of this project, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan (MEXT) covers the expenses necessary for studying at universities in Japan.
Thus, the Japanese government covers the following costs of program participants:
1. Scholarship
2. Education expenses
3. Flight from Turkmenistan to Japan and on completion of training from Japan to Turkmenistan.
Under this program, there are five areas in which prospective students can apply:
1. "Research Intern"
2. "Student."
3. "Specialized College Student"
4. "Technology College Student."
5. "A student of Japanese language and culture in Japan".
The speaker of the event was Mr. Yuito Kudo, Attaché of the Embassy of Japan in Ashgabat. At the event, local specialists who have completed the training course on the above programs in Japan also shared their experience. To date, about 45 citizens of Turkmenistan have already received education under this program.
