Turkmen archaeology students familiarized themselves with professional methods

The Institute of History and Archaeology of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan hosted a traditional mentoring meeting with the second-year students of the archaeological direction of the Turkmen State Institute of Culture. The event was held under the guidance of teacher Maya Emirova. It is reported online edition "Turkmenistan: The Golden Age."

Kakadurdy Durdyev, a researcher of the Institute, held a master class for future archaeologists on the method of sketching archaeological finds. The specialist emphasized that professional recording of artifacts is an integral part of an archaeologist's work, allowing to accurately document and date historical objects.

The participants were particularly interested in the demonstration of sketches of a ceramic jug discovered at the Paryzdepe settlement. Images of mountain springs on the vessel testify to the high level of development of ancient art on the territory of Turkmenistan. The meeting was a practical embodiment of the rich mentoring traditions contributing to the professional development of young specialists.
