UNICEF in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan has installed new oxygen stations at the Scientific-Clinical Center for Maternal and Child Health Care in Ashgabat and the Center for Maternal and Child Health Care in Dashoguz. UNICEF, within the framework of cooperation with the Turkmen Ministry of Health, carried out the procurement, installation and maintenance of equipment, as well as the integration of oxygen stations into the health care system of Turkmenistan.
Oxygen is widely used in medicine to treat respiratory diseases, monitor patients and to improve overall health.
Mr. Alexandru Nartea, UNICEF Vice-Chairman in Turkmenistan, expressed his commitment to further cooperation with Turkmenistan to improve the treatment of respiratory diseases.
