Meeting on inscription of the Caspian Corridor on the UNESCO List held in Ashgabat

On December 6, 2024, Ashgabat hosted a regional meeting with the participation of world-class experts, the topic of which was the inclusion of the Caspian corridor of the Great Silk Road in the UNESCO World Heritage List. This is reported by the Internet edition "Turkmenistan: The Golden Age." 

The meeting was attended by members of the Government of Turkmenistan, national coordinators and experts of the transnational nomination "Caspian-Volga Silk Road Corridor" from different countries, representatives of UNESCO, IICAI, ICOMOS.

The program of the meeting included plenary sessions on the development of the Roadmap for the Caspian-Volga Corridor nomination process and on the integration of advanced technologies in the study of historical and cultural heritage sites. The meeting program also included a field trip to the site of the oldest open-air monument in Staraya Nisa.
