Avaza, August 3 - Arzuw.news. A solemn ceremony of raising the national flags of Turkmenistan and the United Nations has been held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone. The event was held on the eve of the opening of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries. This is reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and UN Under-Secretary-General Rabab Fatima, who is the High Representative for Least Developed, Landlocked Developing and Small Island States.
The forthcoming conference is a global forum that is organized once a decade and is aimed at the comprehensive development of landlocked developing States. Turkmenistan has completed all necessary preparatory work for the successful holding of this international event on its territory.
The ceremony emphasizes the position of Turkmenistan, which considers the UN as a universal international platform for maintaining peace, security and ensuring sustainable development in the world.
