Turkmenbashi, August 3 - Arzuw.news. UN Secretary-General António Guterres has arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, which is being held on the coast of the Caspian Sea. This is reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.
National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag met the distinguished guest at the International Airport of Turkmenbashi.
The conference is aimed at increasing the economic potential of landlocked developing countries and developing interregional trade and economic ties. Discussions on topical issues of the world economy, transport and logistics sphere and transport diplomacy are planned within the framework of the forum.
The resolution on holding the conference was unanimously adopted at the 63rd plenary meeting of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, which demonstrates the high authority of Turkmenistan in the international arena.
The Forum is being held in a remarkable year - the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality status and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the UN. It is expected that the adopted decisions will contribute to the intensification of cooperation in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and harmonious development of the participating countries.
The Conference is seen as a manifestation of the universal trust placed in Turkmenistan by the international community.
