The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting with the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The meeting took place yesterday within the framework of the visit of the Tatarstan leader to Turkmenistan to participate in the large-scale Forum of historical significance. The Head of Tatarstan expressed gratitude for the high level of hospitality and organization of international events on the Turkmen land.
Chairman of Halk Maslakhaty emphasized the strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation. Rustam Minnikhanov praised the improvement of the National Tourist Zone "Avaza" and the created conditions for holding international events.
Particular attention was paid to the fact that the UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries is being held for the first time in Turkmenistan in an off-site format.
The parties discussed the established interaction between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tatarstan in the fuel and energy, trade and economic, agricultural, cultural and humanitarian spheres. The participants of the meeting noted significant opportunities for expanding comprehensive bilateral cooperation in the long term.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Rustam Minnikhanov expressed confidence in further development of relations for the benefit of both countries.
