The leadership of the State Service of Maritime and River Transport of Turkmenistan held talks with Deputy Minister of Shipping of the Republic of Cyprus Marina Hadjimonotli on the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of maritime transportation and transport logistics. The Cypriot delegation arrived in the Turkmen capital to participate in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries. During the meeting, the sides considered the possibilities of expanding cooperation in the field of maritime transportation.
The representatives of Cyprus were familiarized with modern achievements of Turkmenistan in the development of maritime infrastructure. They paid special attention to the potential of the Turkmenbashi International Sea Port as an important transportation and logistics hub in the region.
Discussions focused on priority areas of bilateral partnership, including training of maritime professionals and development of joint programs in the transport sector.
The participants of the talks expressed readiness for further development of relations and realization of new initiatives in the maritime and logistics sectors of the economy.
