Sambo wrestlers from Turkmenistan successfully start at the World Cup

Turkmen sambo wrestlers successfully performed on the first day of the World Cup in Dushanbe, winning five medals: two golds, two silvers and one bronze. The competition is attended by 178 athletes from 12 countries and 28 sets of awards in sport and combat sambo. This is reported by the Internet edition "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

Gold medals in women's combat sambo were won by Madina Aidogdyeva (up to 59 kg) and Zyba Orunova (up to 65 kg). M. Aidogdyeva defeated Elizaveta Lapaeva of Belarus 1:0 in the final, and Z. Orunova defeated Gulasal Oblokulova of Uzbekistan (3:2).

Silver medals in women's combat sambo were won by Aminat Guvanjova (up to 50 kg) and Gulzada Dzhorakulyeva (up to 72 kg). The bronze medal in sport sambo in the weight category up to 88 kg was won by Annageldi Annasahedov, who defeated a Belarusian athlete in the consolation bout.

Turkmenistan is represented at the competitions by 18 athletes in both types of sambo. The competitions continue.
