Turkmen schoolchildren among the ten strongest at the World Oral Counting Championship in Germany

The World Junior Oral Counting Championship was held in Bielefeld, Germany, on October 4-6. Eight Turkmen schoolchildren successfully performed at the international competition, where the participants had to solve tasks for two hours by memory, taking about 30 pages and covering 23 mathematical topics, as well as to perform additional exercises. This is reported by Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

More than 100 juniors from twenty countries, including France, Czech Republic, Japan, India, Mexico, Egypt, UAE and South Africa, took part in the competition. The Turkmen students, divided into age groups "up to 12 years old" and "12-15 years old", managed to enter the top ten.

According to Dovletmyrat Durdimammedov, Deputy Director of Kämil bilim Training Centers, this was the first major competition for most of the team members. The schoolchildren's score of over 2,000 points is a high result. This success demonstrates the attention paid in Turkmenistan to the development of a modern education system.
